Two US fashion retailers, Gap-owned Banana Republic and upmarket shoes and accessories brand Michael Kors, have signed for stores at Westfield London.
Banana Republic will open a 9,000 sq ft store while Michael Kors’ shop will cover 1,800 sq ft. Both stores will open in the spring.
Banana Republic has four stores in London: on Regent Street - where it debuted in 2008 - in Covent Garden, and shopping centres One New Change and Brent Cross. It will open on the King’s Road next month and in Bath. It operates more than 500 stores in the US, Canada and Japan.
Michael Kors will open its third UK store in Westfield. Its second is to open imminently on Regent Street in the former Dollond & Aitchison store. It made its debut on New Bond Street in 2009.
Westfield director of operations Bill Giouroukos said: “Banana Republic and Michael Kors are leading international retailers and will be a fantastic contribution to the centre’s offer.”
The developer revealed this week that total sales at Westfield London soared 24.7% to £870m in 2010
