A 300,000 sq ft shopping centre in South Hampshire will help kick-start retail development following a building hiatus in 2012 after schemes were mothballed in the downturn.
The £64m Whiteley Shopping Centre is due to open in spring 2013 and will be one of just two shopping centre openings that year. Land Securities’ Trinity Leeds is also scheduled to open in spring 2013.
Whiteley landlords British Land and Universities Superannuation Scheme have pre-let space to anchor tenants M&S and Next.
Letting agents for the scheme are Cushman & Wakefield and Wilkinson Williams.
