Wyevale Garden Centres has promoted Andrew Livingston to chief operating officer.

Livingston joined the retailer in April 2006 as commercial director. Since then he has led a restructuring of Wyevale’s product and service offer.

Before joining Wyevale, Livingston was trading director at B&Q, where he had been employed since 1999.

Livingston has worked closely with Wyevale chairman Jim Hodkinson since chief executive Barry Stevenson left the business in January.

The company will not be appointing a new chief executive.

Hodkinson said: “I am delighted to appoint Andrew as Wyevale’s chief operating officer, a promotion that reflects his key leadership role in our management team.”
