Staff across the country affected
All:sports administrator BDO Stoy Hayward announced 1,173 redundancies at the troubled sports retailer today.
Following a review of the business and the company's financial situation, 147 employees were sacked at the head office and central warehouse in Greater Manchester this morning.
A total of 92 shops have been closed today, with staff across the country affected by the cuts.
Staff from BDO Stoy Hayward have visited sites that were deemed 'too uneconomic to keep running' to speak with employees affected.
