  • I love Ikea, 20 yrs ago I bought all the furniture for the Freeserve office from there and the current occupants are still using it.

I was expecting small products like cookware and lighting in the high street stores, that would really work.

  • "does anyone really know what this piece is all about other than in some sectors and sub sectors the usual bandits will appear offering the same or similar for less." If Mr Anonymous gives me a call I'll take him shopping.

  • Good article with great observations, the biggest problem we face is, people don’t listen. It’s as simple as that.

As for Mr Anonymous, tell me who you are and I’ll take shopping around a city centre and might even buy you a coffee. I like the term you used, “old hat,” don’t you know that term is now, old hat, and people don’t use that anymore?

  • “The board has every confidence that Kristiansen” he saw the Internet coming at New Look, let’s hope he’s got a smart phone in his pocket and not a Blackberry.

  • Seb, if you want some advice, reduce prices and people will start to shop at Boots, I only buy things at Boots that I can’t buy anywhere else, everything else is cheaper in town.

  • I visited Meadowhall recently and have to agree that Godiva is beautiful. The other store worth noting in Meadowhall is the Apple store, the lighting is just beautiful.

  • Amazing, great retailing. I'm sure that the leaders of retail companies here would just say "it'll never work here."

  • Companies need to change when customers are still spending money there, not when customers have stopped shopping there. It doesn't need a consultant to tell them that.
