- Ao.com sales climb 35%
- UK sales up 24%
- Netherlands launch scheduled for spring
Electricals etailer AO World has posted a 35% sales rise over the third quarter.
AO reported that sales through its main Ao.com business climbed 35% in the period to December 2015, when UK revenues advanced 24%.
The retailer said it generated growth across the board and that “customers increasingly recognise Ao.com as a destination as we continue to drive an improvement in customer awareness”.
AO chief operating officer Steve Caunce said: “AO World continues to make progress on its long term plan; delivering sales growth across all categories and more customers enjoyed our excellent proposition.
“Looking ahead, we remain confident that we will deliver for the benefit of both our customers and our investors and remain on track to deliver our long term strategy.”
In Germany, where the retailer recently launched, it said that “the exit run rate revenue for December gives an annualised revenue of €77m (£57.6m), up from €61m (£45.6m) in September”.
AO intends to launch in the Netherlands this spring.
