Game has hired a specialist product manager from Blockbuster to bolster its DVD offer.
Bonita Lloyd joins the computer games retailer as group product manager, with a specific focus on DVDs across 370 stores in the UK and Ireland.
Lloyd will report directly to Game buying director Alex Croft. He said: 'We recognise the increasing importance of DVD films at Game stores, and it shows with an ever-growing number of customers buying their DVDs from us. Lloyd's appointment as an experienced buyer will help us capitalise on that growing trend.'
Game has been testing its Pure Entertainment DVD-only stores in Bristol and Reading for the past five months. No decision has been made about a roll-out of the chain. The UK DVD market is worth£2 billion.
