Initial sales of an exclusive WHSmith Christmas magazine link-up with Delia Smith are surpassing those generated by the launch edition of fashion title Glamour.
The retailer is also piggybacking on the success of the Delia brand to alert shoppers to its festive gift offer. The magazine, Delia's Christmas Easy, includes eight pages devoted to stocking fillers - such as books and CDs - available in store.
A WHSmith spokeswoman said the guide was 'flying off the shelves, and said: 'It is proving to be extremely popular.' Exact sales figures were not disclosed.
