The home furnishings retailer terminated its contract with its previous supplier and signed Vista Retail Support while it planned a replacement of its EPoS units.
Dunelm head of IT Dave Wilson said that Vista had a good track record of supporting the DigiPos hardware that the retailer wanted to roll out. The deal also delivered some cost savings.
He said: “Vista took over [from the incumbent] in six weeks and ended up supporting our old and new estate at the same time.”
Wilson said that feedback from the business on the improvements in uptime had been very positive, claiming that the new hardware is more reliable and Vista is more responsive to problems. The supplier dealt with 95 per cent of calls it received from Dunelm last month within the agreed time frame.
Wilson added that Vista is also playing an active part in new store set-ups. For example, Vista staff are present on the day the store opens to ensure that everything goes smoothly and new tills do not go down.
