Game has acquired Spanish online eSports platform SocialNAT. Retail Week takes a closer look at the retailer’s latest investment.
• SocialNAT is a Spanish eSports platform that allows user to play games against other players online. It also runs a host of gaming event
• SocialNAT was founded in 2013 by Oscar Delgado and Emilio Grande
• The business is headquartered in Bilbao, Spain
• SocialNAT has just 17 staff members on its books, some of whom are freelancers
• The business has 63,000 Twitter followers and almost 12,000 YouTube subscribers
• It also has its own channel on live-streaming video platform Twitch, which is owned by Amazon subsidiary Twitch Interactive
• SocialNAT boasts 10,000 followers and more than half a million views on Twitch, where it can broadcast tournaments as they are being played by online gamers
• SocialNAT has more than 150,000 registered users on its online gaming platform
• Among its events portfolio are tournaments for the popular Call of Duty and Fifa games at last year’s Madrid Games Week, which attracted 92,000 visitors
• Smaller events that SocialNAT run include the GG Cup, Fun and Serious Festival and Winterland
