Tesco, Boots, Debenhams, Sainsbury’s and Carphone Warehouse are among the retailers shortlisted for the 2013 Retail Week Rising Stars.

The awards, held in association with the National Skills Academy for Retail, received a record number of entries this year for categories including area manager of the year, customer service team or individual of the year and National Skills Academy for Retail Learner of the Year.

This year’s judging panel, assembled by the NSA for Retail and Retail Week, includes Hobbycraft chief executive Catriona Marshall, Waitrose personnel director Helen Hyde and Morrisons HR director new business development Mandy Flatley.
