Farfetch is among 24 companies to sign an agreement to work towards a shared goal on the environment launched by French President Emmanuel Macron.
The Fashion Pact evolved from the G7 Summit held in Biarritz and will see companies from the fashion and textile industry work together to tackle issues and create shared goals around climate, biodiversity and oceans.
Farfetch is the only fashion-tech company to sign the agreement so far, bringing the total number of signatories to 56 and number of brands involved to around 250. The initial report on the organisation’s progress will be shared in September 2020 and includes the likes of Adidas, Stella McCartney and Selfridges.
Farfetch founder and chief executive Jose Neves said: “Farfetch’s DNA is built on the idea of collaboration and working together for the benefit of the wider industry.
“We have ambitious plans to become the platform for good in luxury fashion. Joining the Fashion Pact and the UN Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action aligns to this ambition, while presenting a real opportunity to work with like-minded partners to help deliver fundamental change and preparing our industry for a positive tomorrow.”
