LK Bennett has appointed head hunters Odgers Berndtson to find a new chief executive.
The search comes as LK Bennett’s accounts were filed at Companies House. The retailer made a pre-tax profit of £5.5m in the year to July 31 2010, down from £9.6m in 2009. Sales increased from £67.2m to £69.8m.
LK Bennett, which is owned by private equity firm Phoenix Equity Partners and chairman Robert Bensoussan, has hired Odgers Berndtson to find a chief executive. Margaret McDonald stepped down from the role last year after joining the retailer in January 2009 from Gap-owned retailer Banana Republic, where she was vice-president for Europe. She now heads up Aurora Fashions owned Coast.
According to the Sunday Telegraph the recruitment company has been asked to find an experienced retailer to provide “clear vision and strategy” for the brand.
