Exclusive: Global trainer marketplace The Edit LDN’s founder and creative director Moses Rashid has exited the business, Retail Week can reveal.
Rashid, who launched the business in the UK in 2020 after spotting a gap in the market for limited edition sneakers and high-end streetwear, said that after the company’s acquisition by BrandAlley and transition he “wishes them well” but that it is his “time to move on”.
The Edit LDN was acquired by BrandAlley in January 2024, followed by a restructuring process that saw Rashid remain chief executive.
At the time, BrandAlley said it provided the business a chance to “tap into a more youthful customer demographic and their substantial community of engaged followers”.
Since its launch, The Edit LDN has expanded in the US, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa and had concessions in the likes of Harrods, London, Harvey Nichols Riyadh and Galleries Lafayette Doha, among others.
Rashid told Retail Week: “Having completed five years from start to finish, from my bedroom to the acquisition, to the transition. It’s time for me to move on and I wish them well.
“While my time at The Edit LDN has been winding down I’ve launched a new company in the fashion space and I have been consulting with various brands and founders from opening a store on Oxford Street, luxury fashion brands in UAE to venture capital. It’s nice to have the fire in my belly burning and the entrepreneurial spirit back.
“While I take my time and consider various offers alongside my new venture, my next move is to be announced but will be coming soon enough.”
Retail Week has approached BrandAlley for a comment.
