Former Uniqlo finance director joins Confetti

Tony Bennett, former UK finance director of Uniqlo, has been appointed chief finance officer at clicks-and-mortar retailer Confetti.

Confetti runs one store, the Confetti.co.uk Web site and the Jerryshomestore.com Web site.

A spokeswoman said Bennett was appointed for his experience in changing and expanding retailers including Uniqlo, Gap and Selfridges.

Bennett said: 'We believe we can take the concept outside London.'

Bennett joined the London office of Japanese Uniqlo ahead of plans to expand. However, he left after the retailer scaled back its British growth programme.
