Marks & Spencer is set to close four of its unmodernised high street stores, three of them in Lincolnshire.

The stores to close are in Grantham, Skegness and Scunthorpe, plus Nuneaton in Warwickshire. The company said sales and profits at all four stores have been falling, meaning they were no longer commercially viable.

The company added the timing of the closures was being prompted by lease expiries, and there were no other plans for store closures.
