Entertainment group Game has hired IGN Entertainment vice president and managing director Ian Chambers to the new role of chief digital officer.
Chambers, who will be responsible for the digital development of the business and oversee marketing, online and business development, will take up the role at the end of July.
The appointment is the latest in a line of new hires at Game, as part of the retailer’s plans to bolster its top management. In recent months it has brought in Fred Prego, the former head of marketing at Avios, as insight director, and Harrods’ group director of finance Benedict Smith as chief financial officer.
Game chief executive Martyn Gibbs said: “We have made excellent progress over the last 12 months with our strategy to build the UK’s most valuable community of gamers and Ian will lead the next stage of our development as digital becomes the headline under which the rest of our business aligns.”
