Tesco is running a nostalgic 1950s advert over the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee weekend.
The 30 second TV advert combines black and white imagery with retro language and advertises a 60% off deal on its Finest own label products.
The grocer is also offering half price on party food in the ads which debuted last night.
The advert comes shortly after Tesco launched new adverts for its Clubcard Exchange scheme. The initiative allows customers to exchange £5 of Clubcard vouchers for a token worth £10 for an extensive range of non-grocery products, including electrical items, clothes and children’s toys.
The grocer has increased its plastic card printing quota in anticipation of an uplift in customers signing up to Clubcard.
