Health and beauty specialist Superdrug has revealed plans to open 100 new UK stores over the next three years.
The new stores will bring the retailer’s estate to around 900 and create 1,350 new jobs.
The shops will feature elements of two new store formats launched last year. Depending on the location of each shop, some units will include Superdrug’s ‘Beauty Studio’ concept and some its ‘Health & Wellbeing’ concept.
Nigel Duxbury, property director of Superdrug’s owners AS Watson, said the stores will be at “new locations across the country”. He added: “While our online offer continues to grow our high street presence is still of huge importance and we are looking forward to growing the portfolio.”
In January the retailer revealed a deal to acquire 50 shops from Dutch health and beauty specialist Dirx Drugstores.
