Topps Tiles boss Matt Williams is stepping down from the business after 12 years at the helm.
Williams, who will leave his role on November 29 but stay on as an advisor until the end of May 2020, is being replaced by chief financial officer, Rob Parker.
Williams has spent 19 years at Topps, becoming property director in 2000. He was named chief operating officer in 2004, before taking on the top job three years later.
In his time as boss, Williams has successfully rebranded the retailer and spearheaded investment into its commercial division, including the acquisitions of Parkside Tiles in 2017 and Strata earlier this year.
Williams said he was leaving the business in order to “pursue a new challenge”.
He added: “Topps is, and will always remain, a very special company to both me and my family. It is a quality business with enormous strength in its specialism which it derives from its people and culture.
“It has been an honour and privilege to lead and work alongside everybody within the Topps family and I wish them all well for the future.”
Topps chair Darren Shapland said Williams’ successor Parker had already “established himself as a strong strategic thinker and leader of people across the organisation”.
Parker added: “Topps is an exceptional business in so many ways and I am very proud of the part I have played in our journey so far.
“I look forward to the future with energy and excitement as we continue to refine our market-leading retail offer and to further our expansion into the commercial tile market.”
