Retail round-up: Asos is the top fashion brand for keyword rankings on Google and Lidl sales grew by 12.2% as giant grocers' sales fall
Asos named top ranking fashion brand on Google
Asos has been crowned as the top ranking fashion brand searched on Google for both men's and women's fashion, the Fashion United reported.
According to the newest Fashion Search Performance Report by MediaVision, Asos has beat out competition from high street department stores such as House of Fraser, Debenhams and John Lewis who stood second, third and fourth respectively to claim the number one spot in the search engine.
Rounding off the top eight retailers were eBay, Next, Amazon and M&S. These top eight brands were consistent top performers in keyword rankings across fashion search phrases.
Lidl sales grew by 12.2% in three months
Lidl experienced a sales growth of 12.2% due to the fastest pace of grocery sales, the Belfast Telegraph reported.
The retailer’s grocery sales rose by 0.3% in the 12 weeks to August 14. During the same period, Aldi's sales grew by 10.4%, while Tesco, Sainsbury's and Morrison's sales dropped by 0.4%, 0.6% and 1.8% respectively.
