Swedish furniture retailer Ikea is more likely to cause a couple to fight over the instructions to its flat packed goods rather than inspire romance.
But the retailer has made sure it is not missing out on the Valentine’s Day sales in Australia with this offer of a free cot worth $99 AUS for any amorous couples who have a baby born nine months from today on November 14.
The flat-pack furniture retailer offered the voucher in an Australian newspaper to celebrate the romantic day. Any parents looking to take advantage of the deal must provide proof of birth in order to redeem the voucher.
We will keep you posted on how many vouchers are handed in. Ikea could be responsible for a whole generation of new flat-pack fans.
Forecourt Valentine’s Day Fail
Valentine’s Day comes around on the same date every year, so you might think men would plan ahead but apparently not. New research by wholesaler Palmer and Harvey found that a fifth of men buy their valentine’s gifts from petrol forecourts as a last-minute buy.
The trend is increasing as petrol stations sold 28% more sparkling wine, 31% more boxes of chocolates and up to 150% more flowers in the week leading-up to Valentine’s Day last year.
It sounds like a fifth of men may be in the dog house if their partner finds out.
