Ahold has opened its first Albert Heijn store in Belgium. Among the 12,000 products sold 1,500 are Flemish, including a wide range of Belgian beers and chocolates. All items are offered at the same prices as at Albert Heijn in the Netherlands.
At the store, which covers floor space of 13,450 sq ft, shoppers can get the same private labels as in the Dutch stores. In addition, customers benefit from a ‘taste guarantee’, which means that if they do not like the flavour of a specific product they can get a refund.
