Grocery retailer Spar has opened the first Interspar-pronto convenience store, as well as its first Pasta & Cafe by Interspar, at Vienna’s Wien Mitte train station.
The 4,300 sq ft Interspar-pronto targets travellers, while the Pasta & Cafe restaurant is a new catering venture that has a varying offer throughout the day, from breakfast to evening dining. Last year, Spar’s main rival, Rewe Group, launched its Merkur Mini convenience store at the Vienna West station, while also opening a larger Merkurshop and restaurant in the station’s basement.
