Camera specialist Jessops is considering linking up with a specific manufacturer rather than stocking a range of brands, it has been reported.
Such a deal would effectively turn Jessops into the retail arm of one of the big Japanese camera firms, the Daily Mail said. Jessops has especially close ties with Canon.
The newspaper said a link-up with a manufacturer was being considered by Jessops chairman David Adams, who is in the midst of saving the troubled store group.
Adams secured new financing from HSBC in September and has closed stores to put Jessops on a stronger footing.
