German kitchen specialist Kütchenhaus is on the expansion trail with plans to open up to seven stores in the next 12 months.
The retailer said that it wants to have a store in every town and city in the long term. This weekend the retailer is to open a £1m 8,000 sq ft relocated store in Trafford Centre’s Barton Square, Manchester.
It will be the sixth store for the UK retail arm of German kitchen manufacturing giant Nobilia, which makes more than 2,500 kitchens a day for outlets across more than 65 countries worldwide.
100 different styles of kitchen are on offer in the shop, which has been relocated from the Trafford Retail Park. All staff have been moved across to the new site.
Kütchenhaus wants to expand into Scotland and the southeast of England, adding to its existing stores in Chester, Hull, York, Glasgow, Sutton Coldfield and now Manchester.
Kütchenhaus managing director Norman Parker said the retailer has spent a “long time” designing the Manchester store, and aims to provide ” inspiration and ideas” for shoppers.
The £90m Barton Square scheme - the home and furnishings section of the Trafford Centre - opened in March 2008, offering 200,000 sq ft of space.
