Manhattan pays £12m in deal to buy Logistics.com

Supply chain specialist Manhattan is the latest to join the acquisition trail with the US$20 million (£12.7 million) purchase of Logistics.com from Internet Capital Group.

The deal will give Manhattan an established transportation management system, which had previously been owned by both Sabre and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Logistics.com has extended this to a hosted TMS solution, OptiManage, which will extend Manhattan's supply chain execution offer.

Unipower has also been out shopping, acquiring m-box' which specialises in supply chain integration and order management software, for an undisclosed sum. The system is designed to manage multiple suppliers and carriers to improve real-time tracking information on individual dispatches.

Unipower plans to incorporate the m-box functionality into new, extended point-of-sale solutions for the multi-channel marketplace.

Elsewhere in the IT sector the mood is less bullish with significant redundancies at SAP in recent weeks and a profits warning from NSB following a 'slowdown in order intake'.
