But looks to Christmas for even more improvements
Fashion retailer Monsoon has released an upbeat trading statement in preparation for the Christmas period.
Monsoon chairman Peter Simon told the retailer's AGM this afternoon: 'I am pleased to report that total sales for the first 18 weeks of the year to October 2 were up 26 per cent, with like-for-like sales up 9 per cent. While this is encouraging, we are conscious that the important pre-Christmas trading period is yet to come.'
In July, the retailer recorded an increase in pre-tax profits of 15.4 per cent to£44.1 million for the year ending May 29.
