Office’s chief executive Brian McCluskey will step down in November after 15 years with the retailer.
McCluskey, who drove the footwear chain’s store footprint from 15 to 156 outlets and its sales up from £25m to £281m since taking the helm in 2005, will be succeeded by electronics firm Sonos’s vice- president of global retail, Lorenzo Moretti.
Moretti will join the business as designate chief executive next month, having previously held senior roles at Nike, Tesco and Marks & Spencer.
Chief executive of the retailer’s owner Truworths International Group Michael Mark said: “Lorenzo has spent over 25 years in the consumer retail industry and has a proven record of developing businesses and people.
“He led and implemented different customer propositions across all channels in many European and Asian countries, and has vast experience in all aspects of retail, including strategy, brands, sales, marketing, store development, visual merchandising, people and operations.
“We are most thankful to Brian for his significant contribution to Office and we wish him well in his retirement. We also thank him for the lengthy advance notice he gave us of his intention to retire, which gave us ample time to choose a successor and to restructure Office for the benefit of its long-term sustainability.”
Office has also promoted its financial director Kerry van der Merwe to the role of chief financial officer with immediate effect.
