Primark is set to open a new regional flagship at Warrington’s Golden Square shopping centre.
The new 56,000 sq ft site at the Lend Lease part-owned centre will see New Look relocate, to allow for the store which opens in autumn next year. The site will be developed through a joint transaction with New River Retail.
New Look will move to an 18,500 sq ft site which will showcase its new store design.
JD Sports has also signed for a 5,452 sq ft store.
Lend Lease head of retail Leasing Guy Thomas said: “Primark is a key addition to Golden Square’s line-up of brands, boosting the centre’s critical mass of high street fashion and reinforcing its appeal as a regional destination.
“We worked very closely with all parties to create a flagship store, which is going to make a great contribution to Golden Square’s ongoing success.”
Lend lease said sales and footfall at the Golden Square are both up on last year and ahead of the North West average. Golden Square comprises 675,000 sq ft of retail space in total.
