should we lose our retail estates to online it would be catastrophic not least as a large part of the countries pension funds are invested in retail.

the point being made is that online, for those companies that have retail estates, should not be seen, as one commentator above said, as anything more than a service as it will never replace so called bricks and mortar retail.

with that attitude the vast sums spent by JLP in the hope of incremental sales would not have been made and more focus and capital would have been spent on stores. this of course is exactly what they are now doing along with many others.
