I have little time for Gove and government per se, is slow to act and often acts wrong when they do. Not helped by a lack of quality in the Civil Service and consulting firms which benefit from the chaos - so they just facilitate the chaos.

However, having dealt with M&S over a good number of years, there is an arrogance which undermines their own ability to work with others. Which means their manner upsets and I suspect that they did too little at the outset, facilitated the entrenched position of both sides and you get this result.

During COVID and all that grant money from the government. Now this very public spat. Kind of makes the point?
