Transmitters in Selkirk will make the Scottish Borders region the second place in the UK after Whitehaven, in Cumbria, to turn off its analogue signal.
Whitehaven has already turned off its analogue signal and the Caldbeck transmitter, which also serves Cumbria and the Isle of Man, will follow suit after the Scottish Borders in the second quarter of 2009.
Digital UK, the body implementing the switch to digital television, initiated a national campaign in Glasgow today to explain the switchover.
Between 2008 and 2012, all UK TV services will go digital region by region.
