Abercrombie & Fitch is launching its first childrenswear store in the UK later this month in the former home of The Beatles’ music label.
Abercrombie Kids will open on August 30 at 3 Savile Row, the former heaquaters of Apple Records, and will pay homage to the band by selling memorabilia in-store.
It is located across the street from the Abercrombie & Fitch flagship store and will sell clothing and accessories for boys and girls across three floors.
Visitors will be met at the entrance by glass cases featuring photos, books, records and a guitar signed by Sir Paul McCartney.
Abercrombie & Fitch chief executive Mike Jeffries said: “The Beatles are music legends and we’re fortunate to be able to open our first kids flagship in the UK in this location.
“We’re proud to offer our customers a unique shopping experience that pays respect to Apple Records and one of the most iconic bands of all time.”
The retailer has worked with English Heritage to restore the original historic architecture with a focus on wood panelling, ceiling details and paint finishes.
Abercrombie is offering up the building as a fundraising venue for the Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, which will host an evening event later in the year that will include a £25,000 donation from the retailer to help refurbish the hospital, invest in new equipment and fund research.
The Beatles held their last public performance on the roof of the building and recorded the majority of the Let it Be album there.
