Electricals retailer Dixons has opened a clearance format at Merry Hill in the West Midlands.
The shop, called Electrical Clearance Store, opened last week and carries product from Dixons chains such as Currys and PC World.
The property was previously occupied by PC World and was converted after the retailer opened a two-in-one Currys and PC World nearby. A Dixons spokesman said there is potential for “one or two more” such stores.
Planet Retail research director Bob Gregory said: “The format enables Dixons to pursue its strategy of reducing stock levels and improving stock turn. By clearing stock more efficiently, it also frees the company to offer the latest technology in its core megastores, superstores and high street stores.”
