TJX Europe, which runs off-price retailer TK Maxx and homewares chain HomeSense in Europe, will unveil its first dual fascia store in Newcastle this autumn.
The 45,000 sq ft store, in Capital Shopping Centres’ Metrocentre shopping scheme, will be the group’s first twin fascia offer in Europe. US parent company TJX Companies operates dual fascia stores in the US under the TJ Maxx and HomeGoods fascias.
It is understood the retailer, which also opened a womenswear-only store in Putney in southwest London in January, would open further dual fascias if opportunities arise.
TJX Europe senior vice president for brand and business development Deborah Dolce said: “At TJX Europe, we have huge flexibility in our real estate requirements. We have two fascias in TK Maxx and HomeSense and the ability to trade stores of all sizes.
“Our TK Maxx Woman store in Putney, our dual fascia store in the Metrocentre and our large HomeSense store in the Merryhill retail park, are all evidence of this diverse portfolio of sites.”
The HomeSense store at Merryhill retail park in the West Midlands will be 27,000 sq ft, the retailer’s biggest so far, and will open at the end of May.
The womenswear store, which sells women’s fashion, accessories and lingerie, has been trading since January this year and measures 10,000 sq ft.
