Graham Harris has been appointed chief executive of Tesco Telecoms and Tesco Mobile.
Harris, who has been with Tesco since 2000, is a former head of the grocer’s hardlines commercial division which incorporates general merchandise ranging from TVs to train sets.
Tesco Telecoms includes Tesco Mobile, claimed to be the UK’s fastest growing mobile network, pay as you go and contract handsets, landlines and broadband.
Harris said: “This is a really exciting time for Tesco Telecoms. Our vision is to be the number one choice for Tesco customers for all their telecoms needs.”
Tesco entered the telecoms market in 2003. Tesco Mobile is a joint venture with O2 and has 2.5m customers.
