Texstyle World founders Eric and Mark Reid are close to signing a deal for some of the Scottish stores of the business, which is in administration.
The father and son team, who now run the Room 2 home furnishings chain, are understood to have agreed a deal with Texstyle World's administrators Kroll Buchler Phillips for approximately 10 Texstyle World stores. They will convert the shops to Room 2.
The pair, who founded Texstyle World in 1980, launched Room2 in September 2000, and there are now six outlets.
Texstyle World is being broken up after it proved difficult to agree any deal for the whole chain.
Internacionale chairman Ken Cairnduff has pulled out of bidding for Texstyle after becoming frustrated at the time being taken to do a deal. 'The whole thing was taking far too long,' he said. He had hoped to introduce product from his Au Naturale homewares chain to Texstyle World.
