Whole Foods Market’s losses widened in the UK in its year to September 25, 2011.
The organic food retailer made a £4.4m loss, up from a £3.1m loss the year beforehand, despite sales jumping 9.3% to £50.6m.
Whole Foods operates five stores in the UK. The organic food retailer, which has traded in the country for five years, has yet to break into profit in the UK.
It opened a new store in Glasgow in November and relocated its Soho shop in May.
Whole Foods said it remained committed to its future in the UK despite continued losses. Three new stores are scheduled to open in its 2013 financial year and it has signed for a further store in Cheltenham.
