Speaking at the Retail Week Ecommerce Summit at the end of last month, B&Q head of multichannel Jonathon Brown said that the retailer was most of the way through the project, which he described as a “major merchandising redesign”.
He also revealed that the DIY retailer is poised to go live with a product ratings and review service on the site. It is working with social commerce supplier Bazaarvoice and joins a long list of retailers already using its ratings and reviews platform including Argos, Wickes and Kingfisher stablemate Screwfix.
Brown said that the service will allow B&Q to collect feedback to use for product development.
He added that a lot of testing was taking place around content and tools to give customers the confidence to tackle home improvement projects themselves.
B&Q has continued to add new product ranges to the site. Last month it launched a Shutter Shop and has recently debuted an art range online.
