H&M (pictured) has taken a 14,000 sq ft (1,300 sq m) store over two levels at the former Easons outlet on Mary's Mall and Mary Street. A swap deal has been agreed with Dunnes Stores, whereby the landlord will take back 40,000 sq ft (3,715 sq m) occupied by Dunnes in Moore Mall, while the retailer extends its Henry Street store into the ILAC Centre at Moore Mall and Central Square. The latter will create a four-level outlet straddling Sampsons Lane.
The old Dunnes space will be broken up into a number of large units, coinciding with a full refurbishment of the centre's public spaces. The scheme is expected to be ready in spring 2007. British Land director Merrick Marshall said: 'This extensive redevelopment will create a completely different atmosphere in the ILAC Shopping Centre and bring the scheme into the 21st century. It will complement the other regeneration works in the area and confirm Henry Street/Mary Street as the premier destination and shopping district in Dublin.'
