CVC quizzed over Halfords

The Takeover Panel held last-minute talks with private equity firm CVC Partners and investment bank Citigroup 24 hours before the flotation of Halfords. Their ownership of more than 39.9 per cent of shares made the Panel concerned that rules had been breached.
