The purchase of Markantalo, the country's second-biggest electricals chain, brings DSG's shop count in the country to 40. DSG already ran Gigantti stores there and the deal makes the UK retailer the market leader in Finland.
In recent years, DSG has focused on building an international stable of businesses to complement its UK chains, which have had to cope with intense competition last year and price deflation. The retailer changed its name from Dixons to DSG International to reflect the new focus. The retailer has approximately 1,400 stores in Europe, from the Mediterranean to Scandinavia.
DSG will reveal interim results and its Christmas trading performance on January 18.
