Fashion marketplace Depop is to open a raft of pop-up stores in high profile retail locations.
The first of the shops, which are being launched in partnership with pop-up specialist Sook, will be open in time for Christmas trading and the programme will run for six months.
Shops will appear in places including London’s Oxford Street, Birmingham Bullring, Liverpool One and Edinburgh’s St James Quarter.
The first store will open at the end of this month in London, and the programme is designed to encourage more people to “shop secondhand while reviving the high street for the Christmas Party season”.
Depop director of brand and marketing Steve Dool said: “We’re excited to be working with Sook again to give people the opportunity to shop from their favourite Depop sellers in the real world. We hope we can reach and inspire more people to look to circular fashion options that are kinder to the planet, rather than buying new.”
Sook founder John Hoyle said: “This new partnership is in line with our goal of supporting brands in bringing their vision to life, and is reflective of the growing appetite among UK consumers to shop more consciously.”
