Scottish online fashion retailer Atterley.com is in the process of appointing administrators, it has emerged.
The retail marketplace, which is said to be used by more than 250 independent boutiques and hosts approximately 3,000 brands, has stopped taking new orders on its website.
Trade publication Drapers said it had seen an email sent to suppliers, which revealed Atterley.com Retail had begun proceedings to appoint an insolvency practitioner.
The communication reportedly stated: “In line with guidance received, we are unable to make any payments at this time.
“The administrator will handle any future payments to be made from Atterley.com Retail. We hope that the appointment will be confirmed as quick as it is practically possible given the time of year.”
Retail Week has approached Atterley.com for comment.
Visitors to the online platform will now see the following message: “Atterley.com is not currently taking any further orders at this time.”
It is not the first time Atterley.com has fallen into administration.
In January 2016 the fashion etailer, which was then backed by former Tesco boss Sir Terry Leahy, experienced the same fate.
It was relaunched as an ecommerce platform for independent fashion boutiques eight months later after entrepreneur Mike Welch acquired the intellectual property assets from Atterley for an undisclosed sum through the Welch Group.
