H&M and Boohoo are the latest fashion retailers to stop sales in Russia and Ukraine following the invasion.
H&M said it had temporarily paused sales in Russia and shuttered all of its stores in Ukraine over concerns for the safety of its colleagues and customers.
The fashion giant said it was “deeply concerned about the tragic developments in Ukraine”, was consistently monitoring the situation and was in conversation with “key stakeholders”.
H&M Group has made donations of clothes and other essentials to Ukraine, while the H&M Foundation has made monetary donations to Save the Children and UNHCR.
The retailer said: “H&M Group cares for all colleagues and joins all those around the world who are calling for peace.”
Online fashion retailer Boohoo has also joined competitors Asos in switching off sales to Russia. A spokesperson added that Boohoo does not trade in Ukraine.
