London Designer Outlet benefited from its proximity to Wembley Stadium this summer

LDO said August was its best-ever month outside of December as sales surpassed £10m, a 12.5% increase compared to August 2023.

The shopping destination said this was its “best summer performance on record” with total sales of £28.75m for the three months to August 2024.

This was driven by major shows at nearby Wembley Stadium in July and August including Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen, AC/DC and Green Day.

Concert day sales at the outlet were highest around Green Day’s performance at the stadium, reaching £558,550. The day of Bruce Springsteen’s show recorded the second-best sales with £525,366. AC/DC’s concert day came in third with £472,615 of sales.

The successful summer of sport and music follows a period of consistent growth, with LDO sales outperforming non-London UK outlets in three of the last four reported quarters, based on data from CACI’s UK Shopper Dimensions.

LDO general manager Daniel Tomkinson said: “It’s been a great summer for London Designer Outlet. The demonstratable combination of world-class concerts, a dynamic major events programme and unbeatable offers from our diverse range of brands has proven to be a winning formula.

“This sales growth speaks to the outlet’s enduring appeal and our commitment to delivering an exceptional shopping experience for every visitor. We look forward to building on this success as we look to the rest of the year ahead of what is expected to be an even bigger 2025, with a record number of shows planned from Oasis’ comeback tour.”
