The Fragrance Shop has reported a 7.7% rise in like-for-likes over the Christmas trading period after strong sales from luxury brands.
The 175-strong perfume chain said total sales in the five weeks to December 26 increased 11.6%.
Among The Fragrance Shop’s top-performing perfumes were new Gucci scent Bamboo and Dior Sauvage. Fragrances from Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Viktor & Rolf and Mugler were also big sellers, the retailer said.
In its last full year, the group reported a 6.4% rise in underlying profits after like-for-likes climbed 4%.
The Fragrance Shop’s managing director, Peter King, said: “Enhancements in our multichannel offer, such as one-hour click-and-collect, order in store and ‘refund anywhere’ services, have created a stress-free and seamless experience for our customers, giving them ultimate convenience in how they shop.”
The retailer opened nine new stores last year and plans to open six more by March.
