Lingerie retailer Bravissimo has revealed growth in sales and pre-tax profits in its full-year figures, as the company expects to open new stores this year.
The business, which sells lingerie, swimwear and nightwear for D-L cup women, said pre-tax profit climbed by £758,254 to £2.52m for the 12 months to August 31, 2013.
Sales increased to £46.5m from £44.7m the year before.
Bravissimo managing director Jo Lee told Retail Week: “We’ve been showing healthy growth for the last few years. It’s partly due to a change in our marketing strategy over the past couple of years, which was focused on making sure what we spent was more effective.
“We also had fantastic trading in the summer, when we had good sustained weather. During the past year we also had good ranges and good stock availability.”
Lee said the retailer had enjoyed a good Christmas, although declined to offer figures.
The retailer, which currently trades from 23 stores and online, plans to open two further stores in the next financial year. It will open one in Belfast and the other is yet to be confirmed.
Lee said she felt optimistic about the year ahead. “It’s fair to say the marketplace remains challenging but we’ve had a good year, a good Christmas and so we feel cautiously optimistic about 2014.”
