A fly-on-the-wall documentary on Iceland Foods will debut on the BBC tonight.
The first of the three-part documentary on the frozen food retailer will air at 9pm on BBC2 and will focus on a battle between stores for a Christmas bonus of £10,000 cash in a briefcase.
The documentary follows a year with the retailer and will heavily feature founder and chief executive Malcolm Walker.
The second episode follows Iceland management as the horsemeat scandal, in which Iceland was implicated, unfolded.
In a description of the programme, the BBC said: “Over the course of a year, this three-part series follows the fortunes of Iceland as Malcolm opens the doors to his 800-store empire and shares the secrets of the boardroom, the Willy Wonka-style food innovations and the colourful life of the company in one of its toughest years.
“As the cost of living continues to rise, the series takes a timely look at debates around the quality and price of food, and confronts our perceptions of frozen food.”
